Applied Stylistics I: Mastering Written Discourse and Texts
The purpose of this course is to give students a thorough knowledge of language structures and of various types of discourse: narrative, descriptive, and dialectical. The objective is to encourage students to write clearly and subtly. This course will prepare graduate students who will study in Paris during the academic year for FREN 6511, an advanced writing course in Paris.
The course focuses on the daily practice of exercises. Students will need a unilingual dictionary, a grammar book and a course pack, in which they will find explanations of grammatical topics and exercises.
